Photography Class at Reiman Gardens

I wanted to post a quick update about the photography class I'm teaching at Reiman Gardens. The class is called "Better Flower Photography" and it officially kicked off last Tuesday. Four of the most fun and energetic students are in the class. Thanks to Corly, Dee, Sue and Dan for attending. I'm really looking forward to the next class on "composition".
PS - Special thanks to Sara Merritt for making the class happen! THANKS!

Just finished an awesome art show in Oskaloosa this past weekend! A very large and knowledgeable crowd turned out.  Sales were wonderful.
BIG NEWS! To top the day off, I won first place with one of my photographs! The image is called "Retro" and it's the image on the left.
Special thanks to Main Street Oskaloosa and the Oskaloosa Area Chamber & Development Group, I know it takes a lot of work - but you put on a really, really nice ART show!

Exciting News! I'm going to teach a photography class!

I am really excited to announce that I have an opportunity to teach a photography class at Reiman Gardens. The Class is called "Better Flower Photography". It starts June 6 and goes from 2-4:30 pm for three weeks. We will spend part of the class covering how to use your camera's setting to take better pictures and study composition. then we will go out into the gardens and actually practice taking pictures. Then to close out each lesson we will return to the classroom and review the shots we each took. Bring your DSLR camera to class.

The class needs a minimum of six students and a maximum of twelve. Please spread the news! This promises to be a fun filled class.

The Link to the class and registration is here.

Art Show Application Season

Spring hasn't sprung yet. So, what's a photographer do when there is not much to shoot right now? Actually, I'm really busy. I'm currently reviewing and applying to art shows. I'll be updating my art show schedule soon. I'm reviewing the changes in Adobe Lightroom 4. My copy arrives Monday! I'm also fulfilling an order from one of my senior shoots. And I have a real estate shoot on Monday. More updates as the week goes on. PS - Big announcement coming soon!
